Björkö Friskola is looking for two leisure-time teachers (Fritidslärare)
The Waldorf Pedagogy Foundation in Vreta Kloster is the employer for Björkö Friskola, Linköping's first independent school, and the preschool Virvelvinden. Since its founding in 1992, the school has grown by one class per year and now covers preschool class through grade nine, as well as after-school care. We work towards the Swedish National Agency for Education's national goals and knowledge requirements. Student learning takes place through theoretical, practical, and aesthetic methods according to Waldorf philosophy.
Our facilities are located in a fantastic natural environment just outside Ljungsbro. Currently, there are approximately 300 children in total, with about 245 at the school, and around 60 employees.
Do you want to help create a meaningful after-school program where creativity, community, and the child's holistic development are at the center?
We are looking for two dedicated after-school teachers for 50% positions. One position is a temporary replacement due to parental/educational leave, and the other is a one-year fixed-term contract.
About the Role
As an after-school teacher here, you will be responsible, together with your colleagues, for planning, implementing, and developing the after-school program. You will create a safe, inspiring, and creative environment where children have the opportunity to develop through play, movement, creative activities, nature experiences, and social interaction.
You will collaborate closely with the school's teachers and other staff to provide students with a cohesive and meaningful school day.
We are looking for someone who
- Is a teacher with qualifications for after-school instruction or has other relevant pedagogical education.
- Shares or is curious about the Waldorf pedagogy's view on child development and learning.
- Has a warm and attentive approach and builds good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
- Is creative, proactive, and appreciates creative activities, movement, and outdoor time.
- Is responsible, flexible, and enjoys working together with others.
Experience with Waldorf pedagogy is an advantage.
We Offer
A wonderful school environment with room for ideas, creativity, and pedagogical development. Here, you become part of an engaged community where we see each student as a unique individual, and where relationships, creativity, and the joy of learning are the foundation of our work.
We believe in the importance of an after-school program that complements the school day and gives children time for imagination, creative joy, community, and rest.
Application
We warmly welcome your application in the form of a CV and cover letter! We process applications on a rolling basis, so do not wait to apply.
Start date: Autumn term 2026.
